Post the fate of his films at the Box Office, Saif Ali Khan has decided to concentrate on his production house. Illuminati Films, the production company founded by Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan in 2009, has signed on Kunal Deshmukh and Saket Chaudhary, to direct films for them in the year 2014.
Kunal Deshmukh started his career as an assistant director in Zeher (2005), Kalyug and Woh Lamhe (2006), under director Mohit Suri and Vishesh Films. Then he shot to fame with his directional debut Jannat in 2008, starring Emraan Hashmi, Sameer Kochhar, Sonal Chauhan amongst others. Post that Kunal made Tum Mile (2009), based on the July 26, 2005 Mumbai floods, starring Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan but then the film fell flat at the Box Office. In 2012 Jannat 2, a sequel to Jannat was released and it was a success. Kunal is currently busy scripting his film and is expected to roll towards the end of next year.
Coming to Saket’s film, he is busy with Shaadi Ke Side Effects, starring Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan and it’s the sequel to his directorial debut Pyaar Ke Side Effects. Saket is planning to start his film in the third or last quarter of 2014.
The casting for both the films are underway and once the scripts are locked a formal announcement would be made. One would expect that Saif Ali Khan would star in at least one of the two films, but it all depends on what the film has to offer.
