MUMBAI: With numerous films being churned out of the Bollywood factory in every calendar year, many films inevitably end up clashing at the box office. Yet another pair of films to collide head-long at the ticketing windows will be Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Ungli’ and Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’.
This September, fireworks are expected as far as two of Bollywood’s leading men are concerned. ‘Ungli’, directed by Rensil D’Silva (of ‘Kurbaan’ fame) and produced by Karan Johar will release on 20 September, the same date as the Rajkumar Santoshi directorial ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’.
While ‘Ungli’ stars Emraan Hashmi, along with Kangana Ranaut, Sanjay Dutt and Neha Dhupia, ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’ is an out-and-out commercial masala entertainer (much like Santoshi’s last film ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ was), and stars Shahid opposite ‘Barfi!’ sensation Ileana D’Cruz.
Shahid Kapoor confirmed the release date for ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’, by tweeting:
So we have a date for both. My next releases #phataposterniklahero 20th september and #RAMBORAJKUMAR 29th november

Even writer Milap Zaveri is looking forward to the release of ‘Ungli’
#GrandMasti on 6th September and #Ungli on 20th September! Gonna be an exciting and stressful month for me with two of my films releasing!
