We saw a lot of Bollywood celebrities express their reaction on the whole AIB roast controversy. Some liked it while some were offended by it. And now we finally hear Bollywood’s King Khan’s take on it. In a recent interview, Shah Rukh Khan made it pretty clear that he would not like to take any sides.
SRK feels that humour will always provoke different reactions from people, after all, it’s a tricky thing. When asked about the roast that involved Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Karan Johar, SRK sa
“I am someone who has always believed in sense of humour. Over the years my sense of humour is rounded off, if not completely over. I have learnt to curtail it because there is always going to be a thin line when it comes to humour. It is always going to invoke radical reaction, either you are going to laugh at it or hate it,” Shah Rukh Khan said during an interview.
Happy New Year star went further on and revealed that in situations like this, there will always be issues and questions, and being a popular actor like he is, when there are people who look upto him, he have to rethink and re-look at things, so he won’t be able to comment on the actions of others.
The roast led to an outburst of positive, as well as negative reactions from people. Because of which, the members of the online group had to take the video down from the Youtube site. Going further with the interview, SRK said that the power of choice lies always with people.
“There is always freedom of expression and there is a choice you have to make. I always say that if you don’t like something don’t watch it. Nobody is shoving it down your throat but if you don’t like something and you have watched it then live with it. There are a lot of movies that I have watched and don’t like but I don’t have the right to go and blame the person who made them,” he said.
