Forbes India’s 2013 Celebrity 100 List is out. The Super Khans: Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are dominating the list. This year the list is full of surprises.
Shah Rukh Khan has topped the list; while Salman Khan is ranked at number 3, and Aamir Khan has finished it on number 14. The two people who took us by surprise were Katrina Kaif at number 9, and the latest entrant in the list is none other than the stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma at number 93.
Kapil Sharma is the first actor in his genre to have worked his way into this list, and a lot has to do with his popular TV show Comedy Nights With Kapil. The show has put him on a high pedestal, and made him one of India’s household names. But, success comes with a price. Kapil Sharma faced two huge controversies that loomed around him; one when the set of his TV show caught fire, and the income-tax controversy which followed it. And then the exit of the popular character Gutthi out of the show.
The ones who have made it to the TOP 10 are: Shah Rukh Khan, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Salman Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Virat Kohli, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan.
Deepika Padukone has been ranked at number 11, Priyanka Chopra at 12 and Kareena Kapoor Khan made it at number 13, while her husband Saif Ali Khan is at number 17. Music maestro AR Rahman is at number 16, while ace director-writer-producer Karan Johar is ranked at number 23.
Among the popular singers, Sonu Nigam has made it to number 38, Sunidhi Chauhan is at number 58, and Shaan at number 88.
The cricketers; Virender Sehwag is at number 15, Gautam Gambhir is at number 19 and Yuvraj Singh is at number 20.
Television superstars too made it into the list. Ram Kapoor is at number 96, Ronit Roy is at number 97 and Sakshi Tanwar is at 98.
Looks like the Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 List is dominated by the Khans of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, and other Bollywood superstars or cricketers. Are you surprised?
