BOX OFFICE: ‘Jackpot’, ‘What The Fish’ Fail, All Eyes On ‘Dhoom 3’

Jackpot-What-The-Fish

The two films released on December 13, 2013: Jackpot and What The Fish have fallen flat at the Box Office. The films hardly managed to get any occupancy: Jackpot recorded about 12% occupancy, while What The Fish could manage only 10% occupancy.

Jackpot had a poor first weekend collection. It collected in the range of Rs 8 million (80 lac) nett approximately on Day 1 (Friday), Rs 8.5 million (85 lac) nett approximately on Day 2 (Saturday) and Rs 9 million (90 lac) nett approximately on Day 3 (Sunday). The three-day total is in the range of Rs 25.5 million (2.55 crore) nett approximately.

Jackpot has been reportedly made at a cost Rs 17-21 crore. It was released in about thousand screens in India. This has proved one thing very strongly: that Kaizad Gustab’s last release Boom (2006) was a blockbuster, compared to Jackpot‘s collections at the Box Office.

Dimple Kapadia starrer What The Fish could only manage to collect in the range of Rs 3.6 million (36 lac) nett approximately over the weekend. Co-produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Kumud Shahi Malik and KR Harish, What The Fish was made in the budget of Rs 7 crore approximately. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, What The Fish was released in about 500 screens in India.

Looks like ex-porn actress Sunny Leone, as well as seasoned actress like Dimple Kapadia, both failed to draw any crowd. Now, with both these films falling flat at the Box Office, R… Rajkumar has a clear two-week run before the much awaited Dhoom 3 hits the screens.

The stage is set, and all eyes are now on Dhoom 3, which is expected to have a huge opening, because it has managed to create much curiosity around it already, despite the fact that the film’s songs have got mixed response so far.
