The third episode of Koffee With Karan Season 4 had the illusive Aamir Khan, along with wife Kiran Rao.
Like Salman Khan, it took Karan Johar a long time to convince Aamir Khan to come on his couch, but finally he made it. Aamir shared some personal details regarding his work, family, his split with former wife Reena, and also his take on Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Also, he couldn’t hide his fondness for Ranbir Kapoor. Aamir also exhibited his hidden sense of humor!
On the other hand, Kiran Rao was the one who came across as someone who was more chilled out and comfortable, read to give it all, and also had the streak of wit and humor, that made good viewing. This is what everyone saw. Now, here is what nobody saw in the Karan Johar, Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan tat-a-tat:
Aamir Khan came across as someone who was cold, very uptight and someone who has “trust issues”. The reason why he comes across the Mr Perfectionist tag is because he needs to be assured, and re-assured about things he is doing, in professional front and also on personal front.
As far as people go: Aamir is more often wrong at reading them, and has a wrong impression about them in first meetings. The case in point: Karan Johar and Salman Khan. Aamir had issues with both of them initially, and he himself admitted on the show about how wrong he was in reading them earlier. Today, he might be friends with Karan and Salman, but with Shah Rukh Khan things are as cold as it can get. One thing is very sure that if there is an effort from Shah Rukh Khan’s side to bridge this gap today, Aamir can be his friend too. Somebody has to start, and it seemed from Aamir’s discomfort while talking about Shah Rukh, it is Shah Rukh who needs to initiate.
All said and done, to each his own, as long as Aamir Khan is happy with the way things are going all, then “all is well”! All one is looking forward to are his films, and it ends there.
