Television actresses are ending up their life after not so successful career or either for personal problems in life. Earlier this year, Pratyusha Banerjee shocked everyone after she committed suicide at her residence in Mumbai. Now another aspiring actress allegedly attempted suicide.
As per media reports, Bengali actress, Puja Aich, took this drastic step on July 11 by setting herself alight. She was rushed to the SSKM hospital, Kolkata, by her in-laws but she succumbed to her burn injuries on Wednesday.
The actress, who had worked in some of the Bengali serials and films as a junior and a character artist, was facing problems from her husband and in-laws for a very long time. Reportedly, her husband, who himself works in film industry did not support her choice of profession and raised objections related to the same.
Talking to a leading website, Puja Aich’s father revealed that she was mentally and physically tortured by in-laws as they did not like her profession. Puja’s father has booked her in-laws and has demanded justice for his daughter.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Police is investigating the case to verify whether it was a case of abatement to suicide or a murder.
