Bollywood’s daredevil Akshay Kumar is known for making choices that most people wouldn’t dare to do. May it be the roles he chooses, to the stunts he performs, Akshay Kumar surprises his audiences at every turn. The actor has done it yet again by taking the decision of sharing profits of his next film Airlift in place of a hefty prepaid remuneration.

According to Akshay Kumar, he has full confidence on the potential of his upcoming film Airlift to fare well in the box office. The film which has been budgeted at 30 crores will see Akshay in the role of an intelligent Arab billionaire. The Baby actor has thus put his faith in the film and asked the producers to pay him 80 percent share of the profits as remuneration instead of paying him his fees beforehand.
This shows Akshay Kumar’s confidence and dedication towards his work as the actor will now make it a point to see that his film breaks all records at the box office. A source close to the film revealed, “Akshay has many movies in hand but in Airlift he sees the potential. The film, which will be made at a budget of Rs. 30 crores, will be seeing a lot of growth at the box office. Hence, Akshay has decided to share the profits instead of charging fees as remuneration.”
Airlift is the story of Indians stranded in Kuwait during a traumatic time. A story of how they, with the help of Akshay Kumar as Ranjit Katyal, managed to survive the Iraqi invasion, and against all odds travelled a thousand kilometers across the border into Amman, Jordan. From Amman, 1,70,000 Indians were brought home by the largest and the most successful evacuation ever attempted by any country, in the history of the world.

Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur starrer Airlift is directed by Nikhil Advani and Raja Krishna Menon, and is a co-production between T-series, Cape of Good Films, Crouching Tiger and Emmay Entertainment. The film is slated to release on January 22, 2016.
