Sunny Deol, who is currently busy promoting his film Singh Sahab the Great is also very keen to start work on his much delayed project Ghayal Returns.
In the year 1990, Rajkumar Santoshi directed Sunny Deol and Meenakshi Seshadri in Ghayal. The film also starred stalwarts like Amrish Puri, Annu Kapoor, Raj Babbar and Moushumi Chatterjee.
Ghayal created history at the Box Office and there have been talks about making a sequel titled Ghayal Returns from quite some time now. But, Sunny Deol, who was eagerly looking forward to work in Ghayal Returns, says the project has been jinxed, but he is determined to make it happen.
“Ghayal Returns is something which I don’t want to talk about because ‘usko nazar lag gayi hai kisi ki’ (evil spell has been cast on the project). But it is happening for sure,” Sunny Deol told reporters.
Sunny is very keen to make the film and this is the third time he is trying to so. The first time, he tried to make the film just after Ghayal was declared a super hit, but things did not fall in place. A couple of years ago, he once again tried and has even announced the project but the film did not take off. Now, this is the third time he is trying to get the film on floor. Guess he would be third time lucky?
Earlier, he announced that Rahul Rawail will direct Ghayal Returns, but now he refused to share the director’s name and is tight lipped about the project.
In the meanwhile, he has already been a part of hits like Apne and Yamla Pagla Deewana. As luck could have it Yamla Pagla Deewana that made waves at the Box Office in 2011 already had a sequel titled Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 in 2013.
Ghayal Returns will begin from where Ghayal left but when and how will the project take off is yet a question mark.
