MUMBAI: Television’s blue-eyed boy Ram Kapoor caused a near-stampede at the Radio Mirchi studios in Mumbai, where he arrived to promote his just-released film ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’recently.

Clad in a white shirt and blue denims, ‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ star Ram Kapoor was joined by his ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ cast Saqib Saleem and Rhea Chakraborty. Ram was his usual candid, playful, mischievous self at the radio station, where he laughed and joked around with the RJ’s present.

Ram Kapoor was such a hit that all the RJ’s were bowled over by his simplicity and raw talent. The actor was the centre of attention, as he fielded questions about the film, ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’, and his role.

Said the charming plus-sized actor: “I think the USP of the film is the script. There are times when you have to work on the script. But for this film I just had to blindly follow the script. The second USP is that the entire team of the film gelled at a very deep level, right from the beginning. At times people take time to open up to one another, but in this film, from the first day itself we all have been shooting as if we have been shooting together for months on end.”

When the conversation veered to his personal life, Ram Kapoor puffed up with pride and said, “I am still learning to be a good father. My kids are very young. So I try to get to their level. When I am with them I am a very different Ram Kapoor. I get into all the madness with them!”

‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ is directed by Ashima Chibber, and releases 15 March 2013. The film has been very minimally promoted so far.
