Vinay Apte No More, Fans Mourn On Twitter

Marathi and Hindi film personality Vinay Apte passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 evening at Kokilaben Ambani hospital in Mumbai. The actor is survived by his wife, Vayjanti and a son Vihaan.

Not only did one saw his power house performances in films like Chandni Bar, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Aarakshan and Raajneeti, he was equally active on television with serials like Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Adalat and a Marathi drama series Durva to his credit.

Apte had gone for a Hindi film shoot to Shimla in September. His breathing problems aggravated ever since he returned. Apte, who was suffering from low blood pressure, passed away after his heart started to pulse down.

“Mr. Vinay Apte was admitted to the hospital yesterday, Friday, December 6, 2013 at 08:24PM. He died today, December 7, 2013 at 05:45PM. The cause of his death is multiple organ failure and secondary to acute coronary syndrome,” Dr. Ram Narain, COO of Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, said in a statement.

“He was admitted to the hospital for a month and was recuperating at home after his discharge last month. However, on Friday night, he again complained of breathlessness and we rushed him to the hospital. This morning, his blood pressure dipped and by evening 05:45 pm, we lost him,” said his tear eyed wife Vayjanti.

Girish Kuber, editor of Loksatta, took on to twitter to voice his condolence and wrote, “Very sad, talented actor Vinay Apte no more.” Many fans of the Marathi actor also took to twitter to pay their respects to the legendary actor.

We hope and pray that God gives the grieved family all the courage to cope up with this tragedy.
