Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who made her debut with Yash Raj Films in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan, for the first time shares her experience of facing flop film ‘Bombay Velvet’. The ‘Dil Dhadkne Do’ actress opened up about her feelings, and the bad time she had faced during Bombay Velvet failure.
Anushka Sharma who achieved commercial success, with ‘PK’ (2014), was criticized for the flop of Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’, which starred Ranbir Kapoor alongside. On the show with Niranjan Iyengar, Anushka was asked how she felt when a film like ‘Bombay Velvet’ didn’t work.
The actress who got emotional on the question replied saying, “I have never faced (takes a pause)… a flop. First time I am saying this. I’ve never faced it before. My films have done average well or they have done really well. It has never been like what happened with Bombay Velvet.”

“And it’s really painful. I was feeling like some death has happened in the family. It is painful as you are so invested in the film,” she added.
Anushka Sharma had a great time working with the entire team of ‘Bombay Velvet’. The actress had spent hours and hours with the entire team of the film on the sets. She stated, “As I don’t do so many films, I really get attached to the ones I do, I’m really involved. I had the best time shooting for it. Creatively it was the best experience. It was very unfortunate that it didn’t make the money, it could have. It didn’t become the film it could have.”
“But I think you need to have these kinds of things in life to kind of, keep you grounded,” she added.
On the work front, Anushka Sharma will be seen in Karan Johar’s next upcoming film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Though the story of the film is yet to be known, but it is said to be on unconventional love tale. However, Karan Johar and the cast are keeping the plot of the film strictly under wraps. The film also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. During a press meet Karan Johar also expressed his excitement on it. He said, “I can’t wait to direct Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, because they are the girls with whom I have not worked at all. I am very excited.”
Couple of days ago, Karan also tweeted, “Enroute to London!!! Anxious…nervous and excited!! Will be on set in 10 days….#aedilhaimushkil.”
