You Won’t Believe Who Censor Board BLAMES For Swara Bhaskar’s Anaarkali Of Aarah Leaked Scenes!

CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani says that Anaarkali Of Aarah is not even certified.

A few weeks back, some of the intimate scenes from Swara Bhaskar starrer ‘Anaarkali of Aarah‘ were leaked online. Videos showing the scenes from the final cut of the movie, by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), appeared online. There was a doubt that the CBFC team may be responsible for the leak.

The chairperson of CBFC, Pahlaj Nihalani, livid about such claims rubbished the reports. And instead blamed it on the makers of the film. He said the makers are using “cost-effective publicity”. “The film has not been censored or certified as yet. We haven’t made any cuts in any film of this name. So where is the question of ‘censored’ scenes being leaked?” said Nihalani.

Nihalani continued, “I call this cost-effective publicity. You make a small-budget film, which needs to get noticed. You concoct censor problems for the film, where there is none. And you get loads of media coverage as soon as you speak of your film being banned by the censor board.”

We are tired of our name being dragged down for publicity. You please make your film about Anarkali from Aarah, Chapra, Rohtak or Raibareilly. The CBFC has no interest in playing the party-pooper. If a filmmaker wants to use the CBFC’s name for publicity he will have to substantiate his allegations. Aise hi Facebook ya Twitter pe gaali dena nahin chalega,” said Nihalani before signing off.

Anaarkali of Aarah‘ revolves around a singer (Swara) from Arrah in Bihar, who sings double meaning songs. Things take an ugly turn when Anarkali lands in a confrontational situation with a very powerful man who molested her. She, instead of bowing down, chooses to fight back.

Directed by Avinash Das, the film, releasing on June 24, also features Sanjay Mishra and Pankaj Tripathi.
