MUMBAI: Mohit Suri’s ‘Aashiqui 2’, produced by T-Series and Vishesh Films has seen a surprisingly great first week at the box office.
‘Aashiqui 2′, which released on 26 April 2013, and which stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in leading roles has done very well at the ticketing windows in its first week.
As reported, over the first weekend, ‘Aashiqui 2’ managed to garner impressive collections of about Rs 201.3 million (Rs 20.13 crore) net. Including Monday’s figures, the business of ‘Aashiqui 2’ was approximately Rs 241.3 million (Rs 24.13 crore) net.
The week one total of the film is in the range of Rs 384 million (Rs 38.4 crore) net.
The film which had started out slower than Hollywood release ‘Iron Man 3’ last week, has ended up racing ahead by the seventh day.
