MUMBAI: Yash Raj Films’ ‘Aurangzeb’, directed by filmmaker Atul Sabharwal, starring Arjun Kapoor, Sasheh Agha, Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Prithviraj, Deepti Naval and Amrita Singh, has witnessed a dull 10-day run at the box office.
As reported, on Day 1, ‘Aurangzeb’ managed a dull opening at Rs 38.4 million (Rs 3.84 crore) net approximately. Day 2 and Day 3, Saturday and Sunday were no better, with the three day total for ‘Aurangzeb’ stalling at about Rs 124.7 million (Rs 12.47 crore) net.
Day 4 and Day 5- Monday and Tuesday saw collections dip at close to Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crore) net and Rs 18 million (Rs 1.8 crore) net respectively.
The five day total of the film was Rs 162.7 million (16.27 crore) net.
Since then, the film has been unable to bolster much favour with audiences. The 10 day total of ‘Aurangzeb’ stands in the range of Rs 220 million (Rs 22 crore) net.
The fate of the film was completely opposite to what was expected, being a big-banner production, with an ensemble cast and a fresh script and storyline.
