Box Office: Bewakoofiyaan Disappoints; Shows Poor Growth

Bewakoofiyaan Cover PicBewakoofiyaan, that started on a very low note, showed no or minimal growth at the Box Office and has managed to collect approximately Rs 44.8 million (4.48 crore) nett in two days.

Bewakoofiyaan had a better footfall on Saturday (March 15, 2014) as compared to Friday (March 14, 2014), but then the growth was very minuscule. According to estimates, Bewakoofiyan is unlikely to show the sort of growth it needs to come out with reasonable figures over the weekend.

The ongoing exams and relatively low buzz seem to have affected Bewakoofiyan‘s performance. However, the rate at which things are going at the Box Office for the Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonam Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor starrer, it’s evident that it would not get any advantage of the long weekend, considering that Monday (March 17, 2014) is also a holiday due to Holi festival.

Bewakoofiyaan is Nupur Asthana’s second film that has not done satisfying business at the Box Office. Yash Raj Films had given her a chance to direct her maiden film in the year 2011 titled Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, that has opened to a lukewarm response at the Box Office.

For Nupur, the journey has not been an easy one and she says that she is grateful to Yash Raj Films for supporting her vision.

Moreover, what’s surprising is the fact that Bewakoofiyan had a solo release with no big competition from other films, barring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao starrer Queen. Now this means that the audience has kind off, out rightly rejected Bewakoofiyaan.

On the other hand, Queen was going on super strong and will end off becoming a hit at the Box Office.

Next week, March 21, 2014 will see the release of Ragini MMS 2 starring Sunny LeoneParvin DabasSandhya Mridul and Divya Dutta as well as Gang of Ghosts that stars Sharman JoshiParambrata ChatterjeeMahi GillAnupam Kher and Meera Chopra.

Looks like, it’s going to be a tough road ahead for Bewakoofiyaan. As for Ayushmann Khurrana, this could be his second flop in a row post Nautanki Saala.
