Box Office: Tanu Weds Manu Returns Becomes Highest Grosser Of 2015

Kangana-Tanu-Weds-Manu-002Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s recently released film Tanu Weds Manu Returns, which opened to Rs. 8.65 crore net (86.5 million) approx. on its first day at the Box Office, has crossed Rs. 100 crore mark (1000 million) in just eleven days. The comedy drama film grossed Rs. 5 crore net (50 million) approx. on its second Monday at the Box Office and with this, director Anand L. Rai’s film has officially become the first film on 2015 to cross 100 crore mark with total earnings of Rs. 103 crore net (1030 million) approx. so far at the Box Office.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns amazed audiences with his exceptional progress at the Box Office. When usually we see a drop in film’s collections after first weekend at Box Office, Tanu Weds Manu Returns only soared higher. The film saw an amazing growth and minted Rs. 38 crore net (380 million) approx. on its first weekend at the Box Office. The small budget film easily covered its production cost only in three days, and this was just the beginning for Kangana Ranaut’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns. The brilliant script, amazing performances by Kangana, R. Madhavan, Jimmy Shergill and Deepak Dobriyal amazed the audiences and took the film where it is today.

It was already predicted that the film would easily cross Rs. 100 crore mark in India within its 14 days run at the Box Office and the film did. It was clear that Kangana’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns was set to leave its mark when the film earned Rs. 6.15 crore net (61.5 million) approx. on its second Friday at the Box Office. As this sort of secondFriday business is rarely seen by a Bollywood film. When Bollywood films only usually receive occupancy rate of 25 to 30% or less on weekdays, director Anand L. Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns surprised everyone by doing an amazing business on the weekdays and receiving occupancy rate above 45% throughout its first week and then continued to do so on its second weekend as well.

Now that Kangana Ranaut’s leading the race with 100 crore mark, Tanu Weds Manu Returns has left Akshay Kumar’s Gabbar Is Back and Deepika Padukone’s Piku far behind.
