BOX OFFICE: ‘Chashme Baddoor’ Holds Fort Through 5 Days

MUMBAI: David Dhawan’s ‘Chashme Baddoor’, produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, starring Ali Zafar, Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma and Taapsee, is maintaining a steady pace on Day 5.

As reported, on Day 1, ‘Chashme Baddoor’ opened with a fair collections of approximately Rs 54 million (Rs 5.4 crore) net. Day 2, Saturday, heralded an upswing, with collections coming in at about Rs 61.8 million (Rs 6.18 crore) net. Day 3, Sunday saw the film’s highest collections to date, at close to Rs 74.2 million (Rs 7.42 crore) net.

The first weekend total of the film was in the range of Rs 190 million (Rs 19 crore) net.

On Day 4 box office collections were in the range of Rs 32.7 million (Rs 3.27 crore) net. Day 5, Tuesday, collections dipped to Rs 27.3 million (2.73 crore) net, as expected of a weekday.

The 5 day total of the film is approximately an even Rs 250 million (Rs 25 crore) net, quite an impressive first five day figure.

The film undoubtedly has done better business in multiplexes rather than single screen theatres, with urban audiences lapping up David Dhawan’s remake.
