Bollywood’s Dabangg Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is inching closer to 200 crore mark, and by the end of this week, the film will surely join the elite club. By earning Rs. 12.70 crore net (127 million) approx. on its second Friday at the Box Office, the film has collected Rs. 194 crore net (1940 million) approx. at the Box Office just in 8 days! With collections like this one, things are looking really good for Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
If compared to Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year’s second Friday business at the Box Office, Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is far ahead. Salman Khan has beaten Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year by a huge margin as SRK’s Happy New Year minted Rs. 165 crore net (1650 million) approx. in 8 days! Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which is running strong in theatres even though the advantage of EID has faded out, could have also beaten Aamir Khan’s PK’s second Friday collections. Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan missed beating Aamir Khan’s PK by very small margin. Aamir Khan’s PK collected Rs. 197 crore net (1970 million) approx. in just 8 days, whereas Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is just a little behind with Rs. 194 crore net (1940 million) approximately.

However, by the weekend, director Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan will most likely surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year and Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots’ lifetime Indian collections! Not only that, but by the end of this weekend, Salman Khan and director Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan will move past their film Ek Tha Tiger’s lifetime Indian collections as well.
To collect such numbers on working days and then on an average second Friday run just goes out to show that Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is in for a long and strong run at the Box Office. Compared to other Bollywood films, Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s first week and second Friday business were excellent. Now that the film has completed its first week run with firm and strong collections, we look forward to the sort of numbers it will bring in on its second weekend at the Box Office, as it will finally reveal whether the film ends up setting a new benchmark or not.
