MUMBAI: ‘Grand Masti’, directed by Indra Kumar and starring Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Ritesh Deshmukh has been quite a surprise hit at the box office.
The adult comedy was among the biggest openers of 2013, raking in a whopper Rs 124.7 million (Rs 12.47 crore) net approximately, on Day 1.
On Day 2, the film managed to accumulate close to a spectacular Rs 131.1 million (Rs 13.11 crore) net, while Day 3 saw bumper figures in the range of approximately Rs 144.2 million (Rs 14.42 crore) net.
The 3 day total stands at about Rs 400 million (Rs 40 crore) net.
Audiences seem to have loved the film, with ‘Grand Masti’ outperforming other releases like ‘John Day’. The trending suggests a good first week for the comic caper.
