Irrfan Khan starrer Hindi Medium and Arjun-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend are battling it out at the domestic Box Office
Two Bollywood films, Hindi Medium and Half Girlfriend have released at the Indian Box Office. The two much-talked about films of the month are currently battling out against each other at the ticket windows. Irrfan Khan is known for content oriented films, which has always been received well by the audience as well as by the critics. Hindi Medium starring Irrfan Khan is expected to receive the same response. On the other hand, the die-hard readers of Chetan Bhagat’s Half Girlfriend are already high with expectations from the film.

Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend received decent occupancy in the morning shows. The film witnessed occupancy of around 20-30% at the Box Office. The romantic drama has got a good start at the Box Office and has collected Rs 10 crore (100 million) nett approx on its first day. Half Girlfriend has performed well in metros but has taken a very good opening in the mass centers like UP, CI, and Rajasthan. This is third best opening ever for an Arjun Kapoor starrer. Half Girlfriend has received a better response than Arjun’s last two films Ki And Ka and Tevar and Shraddha’s last two films Rock On 2 and OK Jaanu.
On the other hand, Hindi Medium which features Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar in lead roles has witnessed poor first day at the Box Office. Hindi Medium has collected Rs 2.50 crore (25 million) nett on day one and is expected to grow over the weekend since the film has received very positive reviews. A substantial growth is expected on Saturday and Sunday.
