Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty that stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha has managed to collect around Rs 120 million (Rs 12 crore) nett on day one.
Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty opening figures at the Box Office is below the mark for its cost and release size. The film is expected to pick up today and tomorrow.
The opening day collections of the film are less than Ready, Rowdy Rathore and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, the three films which was released in the same week over the last three years.
Akshay Kumar, stated that he would love to take up character driven roles if the filmmakers approach with such offers.
“The content has become the most important thing for me, but I have to do films like Boss or Khiladi 786 as well. People are making more commercial cinema than character-driven films. I would love to do character-driven films, but the roles have to come to me. Also, I have to diversify all the time. Our media is like a hawk and it will catch anything they feel is repetitive.” said Akshay Kumar
Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, the official remake of Tamil hit Thuppaki has opened to mixed reviews from the critics. The collections over this weekend are critical as they would decide the fate of the film at the Box Office.
Boss that released nine months back fell flat at the Box Office. His next release is It’s Entertainment, that hits the theaters on releases August 08, 2014 followed by Gabbar.
