Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde’s historic film ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is not garnering many laurels at the box office. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker the film is based on the Indus Valley Civilization. Since the pre-release, the audience was more inclined towards ‘Rustom’. Both the films namely ‘Rustom’ and ‘Mohenjo Daro’ clashed at the box office.
Both the movies have surpassed their second weekend at the box office. The collections of the Akshay Kumar starrer film are going strong whereas the historic film has witnessed a further drop in its earnings. The Ashutosh Gowariker directorial has fallen in its collections even more in the second weekend.
The second-weekend collection of the film comes to Rs.1 crore net approx. on Friday, Rs.1.25 crore net approx. on Saturday and Rs.1.75 crore net approx. on Sunday. The total collection comes to Rs.4 crore net approx.
The overall collection of ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is Rs.54.23 crore net approx. The Hrithik–Pooja starrer has experienced a drop of nearly 85% as compared to its first weekend. Even with the high-end promotions and publicity, the film could not manage to attract more crowds at the screens. The reviews of the movie were also dicey and lacked behind ‘Rustom’.
With such a slow growth on the second weekend, the weekdays are looking all the more difficult for ‘Mohenjo Daro’.
