The much-anticipated film, based on O.Henry’s short story ‘The Last Leaf’, has had a very mediocre first day at the ticketing windows. Though the reviews have been mostly positive for the period romance film, this has not translated into numbers at the box office.

On Day 1, ‘Lootera’ managed to rake in approximately Rs 43.6 million (Rs 4.36 crore) net, which is a an average opening.

The weekend looms bright for ‘Lootera’ though, with the possibility of the film picking up due to word-of-mouth.
