MUMBAI: The New Releases this week – Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur-II’ featuring an ensemble cast, and Vinod Mehta’s ‘Second Marriage Dot Com’ have both seen poor performances at the box-office in their opening days, as the excitement builds up for Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.
‘Gangs Of Wasseypur-II’ started off on a dull note on Tuesday paid previews garnering only approximately Rs 3.2 million (Rs 32 lacs) net. On its release date the film performed better with collections in the range of Rs 27.5 million (Rs 2.75 crore) net. However, from there on it has been downhill, especially in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Meanwhile, Second Marriage Dot Com’s performance has been even poorer.
For the New Releases, as well as current releases like ‘Jism 2’ the coming week will be very tough to crack, as both theatres and cine-goers ready up for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.
