MUMBAI: Prakash Jha’s socio-political venture ‘Satyagraha’, produced by UTV Motion Pictures, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee and Amrita Rao, has seen an upswing in collections, since its opening day.
Having released on 30 August, 2013, the film did decent business on Day 1. As reported, figures were in the range of Rs 102.3 million (Rs 10.23 crore) net on opening day.
The film managed to do exceedingly well in the northern territories of the country, as well as Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Day 2, Saturday saw collections in the range of approximately Rs 128.8 million (Rs 12.88 crore) net, while Sunday’s collections stood at Rs 140 million (Rs 14 crore) net.
The three day total stands in the range of an impressive Rs 371.1 million (Rs 37.11 crore).
Strong word-of-mouth will only bode well for the film in the weeks to come.
