MUMBAI: Aamir Khan made his directorial debut six years ago with ‘Taare Zameen Par’, starring the child star Darsheel Safary. And now, it looks like the star may finally direct his second feature.
Currently, Aamir Khan is shooting for ‘3 Idiots’ director Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Peekay’. But the buzz is that after that film wraps up, Aamir Khan will get down to shooting his next.
The actor hasn’t signed on any film post ‘Peekay’. Though he has the second season of his TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ which in all probability will air late 2014.
A source says, “Aamir has zeroed in on the script which has been written by a female writer. Even his office staff isn’t aware of this development. But Aamir has had several meetings with the writer.”
So far there isn’t any idea yet about what the film’s plot will be, but the source adds, “It’s an unusual film, but it’s still in the mainstream space.” Seems very much like Aamir Khan’s sensibilities.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is busy with ‘Dhoom 3’. The film, which releases on Christmas this year, stars him as the main antagonist. Here’s looking forward to some more Aamir Khan, both in front and behind the camera.
