Meanwhile, ‘Zanjeer’ proved out to be a box office disaster, opening with half the collections of ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’. On opening day, ‘Zanjeer’ starring Priyanka Chopra, Ram Charan and Prakash Raj, managed a mere Rs 31 million (Rs 3.1 crore) net.
By the end of the first week, the collections for ‘Zanjeer’ stood at a lackluster Rs 141.5 million (Rs 14.15 crore) net.
As one can see, the week one collections for ‘Zanjeer’ are not a patch on ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’s total week 1 figures.
