MUMBAI: ‘Zanjeer’, which has not being doing well since its release on 6 September, 2013, seems to have dipped further on the weekdays.
As reported, the remake of the 1973 original, ‘Zanjeer’ starring Priyanka Chopra and Ram Charan in lead roles, along with Sanjay Dutt, did a lackluster business of Rs 31 million (Rs 3.1 crore) net on opening day.
Since then, ‘Zanjeer’, directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Reliance Entertainment and Prakash Mehra Productions, has not curried favour with audiences. The first weekend collection was dismal with about Rs 92.2 million (Rs 9.22 crore) net.
Weekdays went lower with Monday collecting approximately Rs 18.3 million (Rs 1.83 crore) net, and Tuesday just scraping close to Rs 10 million (Rs 1 crore) net. The 5 day total of the film stands at about Rs 120 million (Rs 12.05 crore) net.
