MUMBAI: Director Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man, 2012 starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans has taken an excellent opening yesterday.

Inclusive of English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu the first day figures are in the range of Rs 90 million (Rs 9 crore) net. This breaks the record of previous Hollywood releases in India, which have only come close to approximately Rs 50 million (Rs 5 crore) net.

The maximum business has come from Mumbai. Delhi and Uttar Pradesh figures come close.
