MUMBAI: Madhur Bhandarkar’s latest offering ‘Heroine’ promising to reveal the dirty secrets of the glamorous world of Bollywood has garnered decent collections in its opening weekend.
Produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Bhandarkar Entertainment; starring Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda – Heroine’s first day on Friday was fair with 60% occupancy and collections of approximately Rs 75 million (Rs 7.5 crore) net.
Showing moderate growth in multiplexes of Mumbai, Delhi, Bengal and Mysore on Saturday and Sunday – the three day total of the film has arrived in the range of Rs 240 million (Rs 24 crore) net.
Due to the mixed reviews, footfalls are inconsistent.
Cine-goers are preferring to watch Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ileana D’cruz starrer ‘Barfi!’ instead, which has great reviews as well as the added lure of being chosen as India’s official entry for the Oscars.
