In the classified section of the Times, under Forthcoming Marriages, Benedict’s engagement to Sophie has been published, in a very non-starry manner. The message reads, “Mr BT. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter: The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London.” How often do you see that happening?
In the age of Twitter, facebook and many other social apps, Benedict chose to be discreet and took the traditional way of announcing marriage. This definitely is a breath of fresh air! Being discreet is one of the many virtues of being a snooping giant, isn’t it Mr. Holmes?
