Charlize Theron is on a roll of giving great performances this year. After her film Madmax: Fury Road amazed the audiences, the actress is all set with her mystery thriller film Dark Places starring Nicholas Hoult with her. The trailer of the film gives us a gist of everything enough to keep us wondering where the film is headed. Based on the novel of Gillian Flynn, Dark Places surely is one dark story not suited for the weak minded.
The story revolves around the life of the character Libby Day (Charlize Theron) who is the only surviving victim of a horrific massacre that claimed the lives of her entire family including her mother and sisters. The circumstances make everyone believe that her brother was involved with a satanic cult and took their mother’s life when she came in the way of their work. Libby testifies against her own brother but 25 years after the incident, she is still haunted by the night that changed her life.

When she meets Lyle Writh (Nicholas Hoult) she finds out about a bunch of investigators named ‘The Kill Club’ who believe that her brother is inncocent. Eager to unfold the real truth, Libby has to solve the mystery by reliving the painful memories, in order to find out who the real culprit is. The 2 minute trailer will give you chills at few places trying to understand what the mystery might be. Excellent acting done by Charlize, Nicholas as well as Chloe Grace Moretz take the story’s thrill one step higher.
Directed and penned by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, Dark Places has been coproduced by Charlize Theron herself. The film also stars actors Christina Hendricks, Tye Sheridan, Corey Stoll, Andrea Roth and Sean Bridges among others. The film is all set to release on August 7, 2015 in USA.
