The veteran hip-hop artist rapper Eminem has made a dying teen’s last wish come true. 17-year-old Gage Garmo who was diagnosed with cancer, had few days to live and wanted to meet his music idol rapper Eminem.
Gage’s friends started a hash tag series for him on Twitter named #GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem and it really happened! The superstar agreed to visit the boy’s home in Detroit and make his final wish come true.
The rapper arrived only on one condition that there must be absolutely no media intervention at the Garmo residency. For which special measures were taken. Eminem arrived by 5pm and spent time with Gage for almost 3 hours before leaving at 8pm.
Gage’s family described their union as ‘very special and very quiet at the same time.’ Gage and Eminem discussed about their love for hip-hop music. After the meet, Gage’s face had lit up and the little kid had a pleasant smile on his face.
“We’re so glad we were able to reach Eminem’s people and they were able to respond, and Eminem was able on such short notice to go and see this boy in his own home.” said Rainbow Connection director Mary Grace McCarter
Gage Garmo was diagnosed with bone cancer three years ago. During a recent dialysis it was found out that he had very few days left. Gage Garmo passed away on Monday, but his final dream came true because of his friends’ support, Rainbow Connection, and of course Eminem himself.
