MUMBAI: Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi is all set for an International debut with Academy Award winning director Danis Tanovic. Interestingly, Indian music Director Pritam has also joined the crew as the film’s composer.
Director Danis who is all praises for Emraan says, “I really think Emraan is a wonderful actor. It is going to be a pleasure working with him. We both are on the same page and that’s very rare to find. Also, I happened to hear Pritam’s music and thought he was going to be great for the film.”
An ecstatic Emraan says, “It’s not every day that an actor gets to work with an Academy Award-winning director. It’s a huge honour to be working with Danis and we hope to create some great cinema together that will entertain, both on home turf as well as in the West.”
Danis Tanovic had directed ‘No Man’s Land’ (2001), which beat Aamir Khan’s ‘Lagaan’ at the Academy Awards. The untitled film is to go on floors soon with Prashita Chaudhary’s Cinemorphic productions in collaboration with Anurag Kashyap and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment in India and Cedomir Kolar and Marc Baschet internationally.
Says Prashita, “I believe cinema to be a barrier-breaking medium and look forward to partnering with like-minded individuals who believe in the power of cinema.” Kashyap pitched in with, “I had met Danis years ago and wrote about it. I have been his admirer since ‘No Man’s Land’. And then, I read the script of this film and loved it.”
