The actor was nominated for his brilliant performance in Alejandro Inarritu directed film, The Revenant.  After years of waiting and disappointment, the actor finally won his much deserved Oscar. To say that 2016 was Leonardo’s year would be an understatement.

The moment the world was waiting for over 12 years, finally happened when Leonardo won his first ever Oscars on February 29. 2016 marked his sixth Academy nomination and you know what they say- Sixth time is the charm. The man received a standing ovation from the film fraternity when his named was announced. Not only did he give a powerful speech but it is reported that he had a secret bash too later that night.

According to reports, ‘The Revenant’ star celebrated his big win by throwing a private party at an undisclosed location. The guest list consisted of Lenny Kravitz, Ben Affleck and Richie Akiva among the 25 guests who were invited for it. The guests were invited to the bash after receiving small gold Oscar statuette pins. A source revealed that party was for some close friends and went until the early Monday morning. We are certain Leo’s best friend Kate Winslet would have been one of the attendees too as she has always been supportive of him. She also teared up while watching him give his speech on the Oscars night.
