Awards season in Hollywood is just about hotting up, with the Oscars having concluded last week. Close on the heels of the most prestigious awards show on the planet, comes another American film and TV award shows, the MTV Movie Awards being one of them.
Among the list of nominees across several categories, the Best Actor and Best Actress category seem like a rejig of Oscar contenders like Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’o and Leonardo DiCaprio. Competing for best film will be Oscar winner 12 Years A Slave, which will face stiff competition from films like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Wolf of Wall Street, American Hustle, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Interestingly, the best kiss category already has a clear favorite: Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence‘s intense smooch in the flick American Hustle. For best shirtless performance, Jennifer Aniston from We’re the Millers will vie with DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.
Fans will get a chance to choose among their favourite stars, and vote for their favourite celebrities, in wacky categories like Best-Scared-As-Sh*t performance, Best Shirtless performance, WTF Moment, Best Comedic performance and many others.
The MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by Conan O’Brien, and will be aired live on April 13 from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre. Also playing the role of presenters will be Hollywood bigwigs like Adrian Grenner, Cameron Diaz, Kevin Dillon, Kate Upton and Kevin Connolly.
