Usually, one would expect the anticipation and excitement associated with winning an Oscar as being among the best feelings life can offer, but Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o says it is akin to waiting for test results in a hospital!
Highlighting the “agony” she went through while waiting for the winning name announcement, Lupita Nyong’o likened the nervousness of the moment to waiting for those dreaded results in a hospital waiting room.
Lupita Nyong’o, who won the Best Supporting Actress trophy for her tremendous performance in the slavery drama, 12 Years A Slave, directed by debutant Steve McQueen, said “I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. It’s an internally loud moment.”
Lupita Nyong’o added: “It’s not even about the outcome; it’s about the agony of the unknown. It’s like waiting for test results in a hospital.”
Saying she wasn’t a typical Hollywood fashionista, Lupita Nyong’o credited her stylist Micaela Erlanger for her brilliant fashion sense.
“I wasn’t a follower of fashion. It was a world unknown until I met my stylist Micaela Erlanger. I don’t dress to impress; I don’t feel that pressure.” stated a very upbeat Lupita Nyong’o.
