Sherlock Holmes’ Martin Freeman Joins Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War is growing with each day in its cast size and recent news suggests that Sherlock Holmes’ fame actor Martin Freeman is all set to join the cast. Marvel’s next big venture set to release next year will mark Freeman’s debut in action hero films.

Best known for his role as Doctor John Watson in BBC’s show Sherlock Holmes, Martin Freeman has grown to being a famous name over the years. He has also worked in films like 2012’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and 2014’s The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Martin has done several TV shows including The Office and Fargo and he was nominated for Golden Globe for the latter.

Freeman is the winner of one Primetime Emmy Award and one BAFTA Award both earned for his role as John Watson in Sherlock Holmes. In the nomination section he has been selected twice for both Emmy as well as BAFTA Awards. Recently the actor has hosted Saturday Night Live show and worked in Tina Fey’s next venture.

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War which is the sequel to 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier will see actors Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) and Daniel Bruhl amongst others.

Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures, Captain America: Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are directing Civil War. The film is set to release on May 6, 2016. The director duo have already announced the making of the next two Avengers installments as well whereas Avengers: Infinity War Part will be released on May 4, 2018, and will be followed by its immediate sequel Avengers: Infinity War Part II that is set for a release on May 3, 2019.
