Hollywood singer Demi Lovato is facing accusations from the group Sleigh Bells who claim that the singer has used their samples. Apparently the singer’s new track ‘Stars’ from her album Confident has a sampled part of two of Sleigh’s tracks. The group called out Lovato on Twitter asking her to contact them to clear the air about the same. Plagiarism accusations are not uncommon in Hollywood, and it only gets clear with time whether the complaint is even valid or not.
Some of Demi’s fans are of an opinion that Sleigh Bells called out Demi Lovato on Twitter instead of dealing this in a professional manner. The group of musicians wrote on Twitter, “Demi Lovato flattered you guys sampled Infinity Guitars & Riot Rhythm for ‘Stars’ but we were not contacted. Gotta clear those (sic).” Many are of an opinion that the musician group should have contacted the pop star’s legal authorities if they thought there were some copyright issues.
Instead the band chose to announce the same over Twitter by calling Demi Lovato out. The singer has not yet responded to these claims and thus nothing can be said at this point of time. Demi Lovato has been prepping up for her new album ‘Confident’ of which many of her tracks have already become chartbusters. Her song ‘Stars’ was a bonus track from the album that numbered rank 2 in the Billboard 200 chart when it released.
Sleigh Bells who are claiming that their tracks ‘Infinity Guitars’ and ‘Riot Rhythm’ were sampled by Demi for her songs had released their album ‘Treats’ in the year 2010. Other than that they have made two albums ‘Reign of Terror’ and ‘Bitter Rivals’. Confident is the fifth studio album by Demi Lovato which was released on October 16, 2015. It was released by Safehouse, Hollywood and Island Records who will now be responding to this allegation.
