LOS ANGELES: Two time Oscar winner Tom Hanks will soon be seen playing the role of Captain Richard Phillips in Sony Pictures’ upcoming drama adventure .
The movie is based on true incidents of hijacking of the Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates in 2009. It is said that Tom Hanks may bag his third Oscar with this film after Philadelphia and Forest Gump.
Talking about non-fictional stories the actor the actor said,”I’m always fascinated by non-fiction entertainment. He further added on his role in the movie, “we’ve seen what happens when bad guys try to take over ships or planes, as this is a real event it is a very big challenge for a film maker, to capture what really happened for the film to grip its place in commercial cinema.
Director Paul Greengrass who specialises in dramatising real life events combined with a talented and versatile actor like Tom Hanks has definitely created a buzz.
