Mumbai: ADA (UK), Warner Music UK’s independent distribution company, has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with First Night Records, effective immediately. Under the agreement, ADA UK will distribute all physical and digital releases on behalf of First Night Records in the UK and Ireland.
First Night Records are renowned specialists in theatrical recording. Since forming in 1984 they have released nearly 150 albums of West End and Broadway musicals, including every show produced by Sir Cameron Mackintosh such as Les Misérables, My Fair Lady and Miss Saigon.
ADA (UK) managing director Susan Rush said, "Since they first released Les Misérables in 1985, First Night has built a prestigious catalogue of original cast recordings. The last couple of years have seen some of the biggest grossing West End musicals and it will be a pleasure to work with First Night, adding even greater diversity to ADA’s label roster."
First Night co-founder and managing director John Craig said, "First Night has recorded 143 West End productions, most recently Marguerite written by Michel Legrand, and we’re currently planning the new cast recording of Oliver starring Rowan Atkinson, with Jodie Prenger, the winner of the BBC’s I’d Do Anything, playing the part of Nancy. I’m pleased to be working with Susan Rush and Lisa Bardsley again and we are looking forward to the added dimension ADA will bring to our creative output."
