MUMBAI: Clear Channel Communications and Relativity Media have entered into a multi-media agreement to promote a number of major film releases over the next 12 months.
KIIS-FM radio show On-Air with Ryan Seacrest host Ryan Seacrest, in partnership with Clear Channel Radio, helped orchestrate this relationship with Relativity Media.
The companies officially kicked off their collaboration with the promotion of the film Limitless, starring Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish and Robert De Niro, which finished number one at the box office during its opening weekend with a 25% lead over that weekend’s number two film and 43% over the other weekend openers. “For Limitless, we feel the Clear Channel promotion significantly impacted our awareness and helped drive our successful opening weekend,” said Relativity Media CEO Ryan Kavanaugh.
The campaign was executed across a broad combination of Clear Channel’s assets, including national radio programs like On-Air with Ryan Seacrest and dozens of local radio station programs like Boy Toy Jesse’s show on KIIS-FM in Los Angeles and Elvis Duran’s show on Z100 (WHTZ) in New York. Also included were digital and mobile ad units, digital outdoor billboards in strategic locations around the country like Times Square, and national and local commercial inventory.
Kavanaugh added, “As the consumer looks more and more to digital and interactive content, Clear Channel’s cross-platform deal is a critical step in providing Relativity a direct link to its movie-going audience. Ryan Seacrest really envisioned this integrated partnership, and brought together all of the Clear Channel assets, people, and venues. Without his leadership, this deal would have never happened.”
“Both Kavanaugh and Seacrest understood immediately the impact of leveraging Clear Channel Radio’s portfolio of media assets and their vision was instrumental in developing this partnership,” said Clear Channel Radio chairman Media and Entertainment Platforms Bob Pittman. “We look forward to developing even more creative campaigns going forward that will drive attendance for Relativity releases.”
“Relativity Media is an ideal partner because of its interesting and compelling content offerings. I think we’ve only scratched the surface on the possibilities of blending between the studios and our digital and terrestrial platforms,” said Seacrest.
