Disney to expand Crocs Footwear line

MUMBAI: Crocs, Inc. and Disney Consumer Products announced plans to expand the Disney by Crocs footwear line to six continents at select retail locations in Latin America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Japan, the Middle East and South Africa. Select styles will be available this holiday season with an expanded product launch in spring 2007.

Crocs CEO Ron Snyder said, “The success of the Disney by Crocs line at select US and Canadian retailers, in addition to the growing worldwide demand for Crocs, signaled the need for us to expand our efforts with global distribution. Disney is one of the most recognized brands across the globe and combining a phenomenal trend like Crocs with Disney continues our commitment to long-term growth for our business around the world.”

The Disney by Crocs line, which is targeted towards children and adults, will debut this Holiday season with special-edition Mickey Mouse die-cut Adult Beach and Kid’s Cayman models. These styles will be available in a broad range of two-toned color pallets including Mickey’s signature black and red. The Disney by Crocs line will feature exclusively the Mickey icon produced in the die-cut manufacturing process on adult and children’s injection molded EVA footwear. Other models will include an array of unique designs emphasizing the distinctive personalities of Disney’s characters including Mickey and Friends, Winnie the Pooh and Friends, Disney Princess, Disney Fairies, as well as Pirates of the Caribbean and Disney*Pixar’s Toy Story and Cars.

“Part of our strategy to continue the momentum of our apparel business is to grow our presence in the footwear category with key alliances. Our relationship with Crocs is especially gratifying because it delivers a unique style of footwear that has been so well received not only in the US, but internationally,” said Disney Consumer Products chairman Andy Mooney.
