Endemol seals international deal to represent new entertainment format

MUMBAI: Endemol has acquired the format rights to a new entertainment game show called The 20 Little Piggy Banks.

The deal gives Endemol rights to distribute the format worldwide, excluding France and Spain. The 20 Little Piggy Banks was co-created by Spanish producer Phileas and TF1 Productions – the French broadcaster’s in house production company. TF1 recently produced three pilots on the show, which are now available for viewing to broadcasters around the world.

Endemol director of acquisitions Grant Ross said, "The 20 Little Piggy Banks is a brilliant play along game show, which we believe has great potential as a global format. We are extremely excited about launching it to the international market at Mip TV."

Phileas co-founder and owner Sergio Sancho added, "We are very happy that Endemol decided to work with us on The 20 Little Piggy Banks. I’m confident that together we can turn this show into an international success. Working with Endemol is a pleasure, a great experience and gives you the confidence of working with the best possible team."

The 20 Little Piggy Banks sees contestants competing to win grand prizes hidden within personalised piggy banks. Players aim to accumulate as many ‘piggies’ as possible by answering general knowledge questions. In the thrilling end game all remaining piggies will be smashed to pieces to reveal the prizes. Along the way, there is the chance that contestants could leave empty handed if they stumble across the dreaded black coin.
