MUMBAI: Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment’s Iron Man 2 has grossed more than $100 million in five days in international markets.
Moreover, the movie has been released in 53 international markets and will open in North America and a few others markets like India only on 7 May.
The movie was released a week earlier in international markets in order to secure an extra week of business in advance of the 2010 World Cup, which is scheduled to begin on 11 June. Iron Man 2 stars Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson. The movie grossed $2.25 million on 48 Imax screens.
According to Paramount Pictures, Iron Man 2’s international debut beats the first film’s opening by an average of 26 percent. Iron Man premiered to an initial foreign gross of $99.1 million in 2008.
