MUMBAI: Audrey Lee has been appointed as senior vice president of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s distribution legal affairs group.
Lee will oversee legal affairs for distribution of content for the domestic pay television, non-European international television, digital/online/mobile and home entertainment businesses and for worldwide digital cinema.
Sony Pictures Entertainment deputy general counsel and executive vice president for legal affairs Corii Berg said, “As Sony Pictures expands its presence in the digital marketplace, we need people like Audrey helping to lead the way. With her years of experience dealing with the intersection of the law, technology and content, Audrey is the ideal person to head legal affairs for a variety of our distribution businesses in the digital era.”

I have always enjoyed working on the complex legal issues involved when content is distributed across the more traditional and digital platforms, and this new position allows me to be at the cutting edge of an exciting, new entertainment frontier.”
Lee joined Sony Pictures in 2001 as Senior Counsel and became Assistant General Counsel in 2004. She has worked on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures for the studio’s operational divisions, and helped negotiate and draft home entertainment distribution deals and digital cinema agreements worldwide. She represented Sony Pictures in the formation of digital cinema initiatives, a multi-studio joint venture that developed voluntary technical standards for digital cinema, and worked on the studio’s first digital cinema agreements with exhibitors and others worldwide. Lee has also been involved in negotiating Blu-ray disc agreements with retailers.
Prior to joining Sony Pictures, Lee was at internet incubator idealab and worked at the law firm of Latham and Watkins.
