You’ve done every “kid-friendly” activity you can think of – the museums, beaches, fairs and movies. Well, there are still a few weeks left of summer and one local firm is making it easier to occupy the kids with their one-of-a-kind tour. Now through September, Boston Movie Tours is offering a 20% savings on their newly launched Theater-on-Wheels tour.
Since Boston Movie Tours launched last year, they’ve celebrated local film locations dating back to the 1961 film “The Parent Trap”…all on foot along the now famous Boston Movie Mile. New this month is their newest offering, Theater-on-Wheels, a 25-passenger luxury van decked out with movie paraphernalia that takes the walking tour one step further. Each tour lasts from 2 ½ to 3 hours and covers dozens of movies made in Massachusetts, while passengers enjoying movie-oriented refreshments in air-conditioned style.
Hollywood experts provide behind-the-scenes details on the productions, actors and key players while video clips of the actual locations play simultaneously on one of the 5 LCD flat screen TVs. A sample of the movies highlighted include Good Will Hunting, Mystic River, Blown Away,
Celtic Pride, Legally Blonde and Fenway Parkfavorites Fever Pitch and Field of Dreams.
To celebrate the history of Fenway Park in the movies, Boston Movie Tours will donate 5% of their 2006 fiscal year Theater-on-Wheels sales to the Red Sox Foundation.
