Mumbai: DeviantART, Inc. has joined forces with MGM in the fight against breast cancer by participating in PiNKiTUDE; a campaign that seeks to educate young women and teens about the importance of early detection and treatment of breast cancer while also stressing the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
As the world’s largest art community, DeviantART is asking artists from around the globe to apply their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating digital and traditional pieces of artwork that embrace ‘PiNKiTUDE’.
Winners will be judged on technique, creativity, and best expression of the ‘PiNKiTUDE philosophy’. The art submissions from the top 40 finalists will be made available as high quality printed products within the exclusive DeviantART PiNKiTUDE Shop and 100% of DeviantART’s portion of the sales will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
"With over 8 million registered members worldwide, we have always been proud of the power of our community and the global attention we can focus on artists in support of great causes, like this one," said DeviantART Co-founder and CEO Angelo Sotira. "This is the first time that MGM Consumer Products has partnered with an online art community, and it’s our honor to work with both MGM Consumer Products and Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help raise awareness for such an important issue."
DeviantART and MGM are also partnering to create a Coffee Table Book where the proceeds will once again go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The top Pinkitude Contest submissions will be showcased in the book and each of the artists involved will receive an honorarium for use of their work. Additionally, winning art and products will be available for sale at SHOP.deviantART.com/pinkitude.
Leveraging the strength of MGM’s strong brand identity and broad appeal proceeds from the retail merchandise and events are raising critical funds for Komen for the Cure’s ongoing research and community outreach campaigns.
