MUMBAI: Chicago’s Grammy-nominated hip-hop legend Twista is back with a new label – EMI Label Services and album entitled Category F5.
Twista, whose hits include Slow Jamz featuring Kanye West and Overnight Celebrity, has brought his Get Money Gang Entertainment label to EMI Label Services. The first project under the new partnership is the rapper’s sixth studio album, Category F5. Preceding the album’s 16 June, 2009 release is the track Wetter, available for digital download from February.
Album GMG Entertainment is headed by Twista’s manager Rawle Stewart and Henley Halem, who will act as the liaison between GMG and EMI. "We are very pleased to be in business with EMI and Capitol. I am excited about being independent again but having the resources of a major," says Twista.
As he gears up for the release of Category F5, Twista notes, "The hustle never stops. Over the last couple of years, I’ve just been thinking about what the fans want from me. And that was motivation enough to bring out another classic album."
